Abstract
A vibratory meter (5) for determining a vapor pressure of a fluid is provided. The vibratory meter (5) includes a meter assembly (10) having a fluid, and a meter electronics (20) communicatively coupled to the meter assembly (10). The vibratory meter (5) is configured to determine a vapor pressure of the fluid in the meter assembly (10) based on a static pressure of the fluid in the meter assembly (10).
Claims16
A vibratory meter (5) for determining a true vapor pressure value of a fluid, the vibratory meter (5) comprising:
- a meter assembly (10) having a conduit (130, 130′) containing a fluid;
- and
- a meter electronics (20) communicatively coupled to the meter assembly (10), the meter electronics (20) being configured to:
- vary a static pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly (10) until a fluid phase change is detected;
- determine the static pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly (10);
- and
- determine a first vapor pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly (10) based on the static pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly (10);
- adjust the first vapor pressure value to correspond to a true vapor pressure drive gain (332);
- and
- determine the true vapor pressure value based on the true vapor pressure drive gain.
A method for determining a true vapor pressure value of a fluid, the method comprising:
- providing fluid to a conduit of a meter assembly of a vibratory meter;
- varying a static pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly until a fluid phase change is detected;
- determining the static pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly;
- and
- determining a first vapor pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly based on the static pressure value of the fluid in the meter assembly;
- adjusting the first vapor pressure value to correspond to a true vapor pressure drive gain (332);
- and
- determining the true vapor pressure value based on the true vapor pressure drive gain.
