Automated bed or baby cot

A bed comprising a sleeping surface and an elevation mechanism arranged to control the elevation of the sleeping surface, wherein the bed further comprises at least one temperature sensor configured to measure temperature in the environment surrounding the bed and/or at least one humidity sensor configured to measure humidity in the environment surrounding the bed, and the elevation mechanism is configured to automatically raise or lower the height of the entire sleeping surface to reflect changes in temperature and/or humidity, based on signals from the at least one temperature sensor and/or the at least one humidity sensor.
