Sole structures and articles of footwear having separate and separable outsole and midsole components

An article of footwear, comprising:

• an upper;
• and
• a sole structure engaged with the upper, the sole structure including:
• (i) a midsole component having a bottom surface, wherein the bottom surface includes:
• (a) a bottom base surface, (b) a first projection including a first body extending away from the bottom base surface, wherein a first exposed free end surface of the first projection includes a first pair of intersecting sipes extending inward into the first body, (c) a lateral side ridge extending downwardly from the bottom base surface, and (d) a medial side ridge extending downwardly from the bottom base surface;
• and
• (ii) an outsole component removably engaged with the bottom surface of the midsole component, wherein the outsole component includes a first hole defined therein, wherein the first projection extends into the first hole, wherein the first exposed free end surface of the first projection is exposed through the first hole and recessed inward from an exposed exterior surface of the outsole component immediately adjacent the first hole, wherein the outsole component further includes an outermost exterior lateral edge and an outermost exterior medial edge, and wherein at least portions of the outermost exterior lateral edge and the outermost exterior medial edge of the outsole component are received between the lateral side ridge and the medial side ridge of the midsole component at the bottom surface of the midsole component.
