Dynamic modification of functionality of a real-time communications session

A system for dynamic modification of functionality of a real-time communications session, the system comprising:

• a communication circuit configured to establish the real-time communication session,
• wherein the real-time communication session comprises a configuration,
• wherein the configuration provides one or more functions to the real-time communication session;
• a processing circuit configured to identify a request for a first algorithm of a set of algorithms,
• wherein the set of algorithms provides a set of functions that are not included in the one or more functions provided to the real-time communication session by the configuration,
• wherein each algorithm of the set of algorithms is configured to provide an associated function when executed during the real-time communication session;
• and
• a modification circuit configured to add an instance of the first algorithm to the real-time communication session as a virtual participant,
• wherein the virtual participant is enabled to receive input and provide output within the real-time communication session, but is otherwise independent of the real-time communication session, and
• wherein adding the instance of the first algorithm as a virtual participant uses a same process as adding a non-virtual participant.

A system for dynamic modification of functionality of a face-to-face interaction between first and second participants, the system comprising:

• a system for dynamic modification of functionality of a real-time communications session,
• wherein the real-time communication session comprises a configuration,
• wherein the configuration provides one or more functions to the real-time communication session,
• wherein the dynamic modification of functionality of the real-time communication session comprises adding at least one additional function of the real-time communication session as a virtual participant for use by at least one of the first and second participants of the face-to-face interaction,
• wherein adding the at least one function as a virtual participant uses a same process as adding the at least one of the first and second participants,
• wherein the virtual participant is enabled to receive input and provide output within the real-time communication session, but is otherwise independent of the real-time communication session, and
• wherein the additional function is not one of the one or more functions provided by the configuration of the real-time communication session.
