Abstract
The present disclosure generally relates to materials, processes, generators, and/or systems, for generating radioisotope. The present disclosure also generally relates to ceramic materials comprising radioisotope suitable for use in a radioisotope generator. The present disclosure also generally relates to processes, generators and/or systems, for producing and capturing radioisotope. The present disclosure also generally relates to the preparation of radioisotope solutions for use in radiopharmacy and/or other clinical applications.
Claims15
A substrate for a radioisotope generator, the substrate comprising:
- a metal oxide substrate;
- and
- an immobilized parent radioisotope bound on or near a surface of the metal oxide substrate;
- wherein the metal oxide substrate is porous, has a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area of less than about 200 m2/g when measured using standard ASTM C1274, and wherein the metal oxide is selected from the group consisting of tantalum oxide and zirconium oxide, and
- wherein the parent radioisotope is thorium-228 (228Th).
A radioisotope generator comprising:
- a metal oxide substrate and an immobilized parent radioisotope bound on or near a surface of the metal oxide substrate, wherein the metal oxide substrate is porous, has a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area of less than about 200 m2/g when measured using standard ASTM C1274, and wherein the metal oxide is selected from the group consisting of tantalum oxide and zirconium oxide,
- wherein the metal oxide substrate is configured to be housed within a collection chamber and the parent radioisotope is thorium-228 (228Th).
