Abstract
An optical distribution and splice frame system includes rack(s), enclosure(s), cable management component(s), and/or cassette(s) that have features to allow for different cable management configurations not yet available in the market. A fiber optic cassette and enclosure are designed to enable flexibility in cable management configurations for the overall system.
Claims15
A cable management enclosure comprising:
- an enclosure body configured to be installed onto a rack, the enclosure body having a 1 RU width;
- a tray including a tray floor, a first side rail, and a second side rail, the tray floor having a width that is approximately ¾ RU width, wherein the tray is configured to:
- slide along an axis within the enclosure body;
- and
- install at least a first cassette within the approximately ¾ RU width of the tray floor;
- a first cable manager attached to the first side rail of the tray, wherein the first cable manager is configured to route a first cable assembly including a first fiber connector installed into the first cassette;
- and
- a second cable manager attached to the second side rail of the tray, wherein the second cable manager is configured to route a second cable assembly including a second fiber connector installed into the first cassette, wherein the first cable manager and the second cable manager have a combined width of approximately ¼ RU width so that the tray is configured to slide within the enclosure body when the first cable manager is attached to the first side rail and the second cable manager is attached to the second side rail.
