Abstract
Disclosed is a method for quantification of water and/or one or more ionic liquid components in an ionic liquid (IL)/water (H2O) mixture. The method comprises obtaining one or more Raman spectra for the IL/H2O mixture, and using a quantitative calibration model with the one or more Raman spectra to quantify water and/or one or more ionic liquid components in the IL/H2O mixture.
Claims17
A method comprising:
- a process of producing Lyocell-type man-made cellulosic fibers based on cellulose pulp dissolution in an ionic liquid (IL), dry-jet wet spinning of a solution in a water (H2O) bath and a subsequent solvent recovery step, in which the IL and H2O are separated;
- monitoring and/or controlling the process by quantification of water and/or one or more ionic liquid components in an ionic liquid (IL)/water (H2O) mixture by:
- obtaining one or more Raman spectra for the IL/H2O mixture;
- and
- using a quantitative calibration model with the one or more Raman spectra to quantify water and/or one or more ionic liquid components in the IL/H2O mixture;
- and
- simultaneously determining an acid, base and H2O content and/or H2O concentration and A:B ratio in the IL/H2O mixture.
