Abstract
In one aspect, the disclosure relates to substituted axially-chiral cannabinol analogs, methods of making same, pharmaceutical compositions comprising same, and methods of treating pain using same. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.

A compound having a structure represented by a formula:
- wherein R1 is selected from hydrogen, hydroxyl, methoxy, acetoxy, —OC6H5, and —OCH2C6H5;
- wherein each of R2, R4, R6a, and R6b is independently selected from hydrogen and C1-C6 alkyl;
- wherein R3 is optionally substituted C1-C12 alkyl;
- wherein R7 and R8 are hydrogen;
- and
- wherein R9 is optionally substituted alkyl;
- wherein R10 is selected from cyano, —CH2OH, —CH2OAc, or optionally substituted alkyl;
- or
- wherein R9 is hydrogen and wherein R10 is selected from cyano, —CH2OH, —CH2OAc, or methyl;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
