Abstract
A formulation of naltrexone that ameliorates undesirable localized reactions at the site of implantation.
Claims3
A pharmaceutically-acceptable formulation consisting of (4R,4aS,7aR,12bS)-3-(cyclopropylmethyl)-4a,9-dihydroxy-2,4,5,6,7a,13-hexahydro-1H-4,12-methanobenzofuro[3,2-e]isoquinolin-7-one or salts thereof or anhydrous bases thereof or prodrugs thereof, and magnesium stearate, wherein the amount of (4R,4aS,7aR,12bS)-3-(cyclopropylmethyl)-4a,9-dihydroxy-2,4,5,6,7a,13-hexahydro-1H-4,12-methanobenzofuro[3,2-e]isoquinolin-7-one in the formulation is 1.5 grams±5% by weight;
- and
- the amount of magnesium stearate in the formulation is 0.011 grams by weight;
- and
- wherein the amount of magnesium stearate does not cause tissue irritation.
