Primer composition

A primer composition, comprising:

• an olefin-based resin (A);
• and
• a flaky pigment (B),
• wherein the olefin-based resin (A) comprises substantially no chlorine,
• the olefin-based resin (A) is at least one selected from the group consisting of olefin-based polymers selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polypropylene, an ethylene-propylene copolymer, and a copolymer of ethylene and/or propylene with at least one other comonomers;
• and a modified product of the olefin-based polymer, and
• a modification amount in the modified product is from 0.1% by mass 10% by mass,
• wherein the primer composition satisfies (1) or (3):
• (1) the primer composition comprises an organic solvent (C) immiscible with water, the flaky pigment (B) has an average particle size of at least 25 μm, and a content of the flaky pigment (B) is at least 17% by mass, based on 100% by mass of a solids content in the primer composition;
• or
• (3) the primer composition comprises water (D), the olefin-based resin (A) is a water-based resin, and a content of the flaky pigment (B) is at least 50% by mass, based on 100% by mass of the solids content in the primer composition.
