Augmented reality for ultrasound exams at the point-of-care in combination with mechanical ventilation

A mechanical ventilation assistance device comprising at least one electronic controller configured to:

• receive positional data of a patient undergoing mechanical ventilation therapy with a mechanical ventilator;
• determine a position of an imaging device configured to obtain imaging data of the patient based on the received positional data;
• and
• display, on a display device, a representation of the determined position of the imaging device;
• control the mechanical ventilator to adjust one or more parameters of the mechanical ventilation therapy delivered to the patient using images acquired of a diaphragm of the patient when the imaging device is in the determined position;
• control the imaging device, while in the determined position, to acquire images of the patient in response to the one or more parameters of the mechanical ventilation therapy applied to the patient being adjusted.
