Electrical feedthrough

A port for wearable electronic devices, the port being a charging port or a medical port, the port comprising:

• an electrical feedthrough, comprising:
• a base body, which is made from a metal material and has a first side and an opposed second side and at least one through-hole extending through the base body from the first side to the second side;
• an insulating material received in the at least one through-hole, the insulating material having a first surface on the first side of the base body and an opposed second surface on the second side of the base body;
• and
• an electrical conductor extending through the insulating material, the electrical conductor having a first diameter at a location of the first surface of the insulating material and a second diameter at a location of the second surface of the insulating material, the first diameter of the electrical conductor being larger than the second diameter of the electrical conductor, the insulating material being configured and arranged to electrically insulate the electrical conductor from the base body,
• wherein:
• (i) the electrical conductor (1) ends flush with the first surface of the insulating material on the first side of the base body or (2) is offset from the first surface of the insulating material by less than 500 μm, such that the first surface of the insulating material is grinded flush with the electrical conductor or forms a meniscus which transitions flush to the electrical conductor;
• and
• (ii) the electrical conductor protrudes from the second surface of the insulating material on the second side of the base body, the protrusion being more than 500 μm.
