Unmanned aerial vehicle management

A method for unmanned aerial vehicle management, the method comprising:

• identifying, based on a first communication between a communication interface and a first base module, that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is present at the first base module;
• generating a mission for the UAV, wherein the mission includes the UAV taking off from the first base module, the UAV performing a task at a task location after taking off from the first base module, and the UAV landing after performing the task;
• identifying, based on a second communication between the communication interface and a second base module, a space to be available for the UAV to land at the second base module as part of the mission;
• selecting the second base module for the UAV to land at as part of the mission based on the task location being closer to a second location of the second base module than a first location of the first base module and based on identification of the space to be available for the UAV to land at the second base module;
• and
• causing actuation of an actuator of the first base module to release the UAV from the first base module and initiate the mission.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having embodied thereon a program, wherein the program is executable by a processor to perform a method of unmanned aerial vehicle management, the method comprising:

• identifying, based on a first communication between a communication interface and a first base module, that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is present at the first base module;
• generating a mission for the UAV, wherein the mission includes the UAV taking off from the first base module, the UAV performing a task at a task location after taking off from the first base module, and the UAV landing after performing the task;
• identifying, based on a second communication between the communication interface and a second base module, a space to be available for the UAV to land at the second base module as part of the mission;
• selecting the second base module for the UAV to land at as part of the mission based on the task location being closer to a second location of the second base module than a first location of the first base module and based on identification of the space to be available for the UAV to land at the second base module;
• and
• causing actuation of an actuator of the first base module to release the UAV from the first base module and initiate the mission.
