Abstract
A method includes determining control setpoints for equipment based on a time-varying availability of green energy and revenue from an incentive program of an energy provider. The method also includes controlling the equipment using the control setpoints.
Claims9
A control system comprising a processor and non-transitory memory, the memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
- estimating a power usage for a building or campus accounting for a time-varying availability of green energy;
- determining a battery control setpoint indicating an amount of power to be stored or discharged by a battery based on a difference between the estimated power usage for the building or campus and a power indicated for an amount of participation in an incentive program of an energy provider, wherein the amount of participation is based upon revenue from the incentive program;
- and
- controlling the battery to store or discharge electricity using the battery control setpoint.
