Abstract
An embodiment includes a polymer composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer that: (a) is bonded to iodine, (b) includes a vinyl group, and (c) includes urethane linkages. Other embodiments are described herein.

A polymer composition comprising:
- a thermoplastic polymer that:
- (a) is bonded to iodine, (b) includes a vinyl group, and (c) includes urethane linkages;
- wherein the iodine is included in a triiodobenzene monomer;
- wherein the thermoplastic polymer includes a backbone that comprises the triiodobenzene monomer;
- wherein the triiodobenzene monomer includes at least one of (a) 5-amino-2,4,6-triiodoisophthalic acid (ATIPA), (b) diatrizoic acid, (c) triiodophenol, or (d) iothalmic acid.

A polymer composition comprising:
- a thermoplastic polymer that:
- (a) is bonded to iodine, (b) includes a vinyl group, and (c) includes urethane linkages;
- wherein the iodine is included in a triiodobenzene monomer;
- wherein the thermoplastic polymer includes a backbone having a repeating unit, the repeating unit including the iodine and a functional group;
- wherein the functional group comprises an additional vinyl group.
