Audible passenger announcements for autonomous vehicle services

An autonomous vehicle comprising:

• one or more user input buttons;
• a door configured to open and close;
• and
• one or more processors operably coupled to the one or more user input buttons, the one or more processors being configured to:
• control the vehicle to travel to a location;
• and
• when the vehicle arrives at the location in order to pick up a passenger:
• confirm that the passenger is in the vehicle;
• detect that the door has been closed;
• and
• in response to confirming that the passenger is in the vehicle and detecting that the door of the vehicle has been closed, generate a request for the passenger to provide user input via the one or more user input buttons to confirm a destination of the vehicle.

A system comprising:

• one or more user input buttons;
• and
• one or more processors operably coupled to the one or more user input buttons, the one or more processors being configured to:
• control an autonomous vehicle to travel to a location;
• and
• when the vehicle arrives at the location in order to pick up a passenger:
• confirm that the passenger is in the vehicle;
• detect that a door of the vehicle has been closed;
• and
• in response to confirming that the passenger is in the vehicle and detecting that the door of the vehicle has been closed, generate a request for the passenger to provide user input via the one or more user input buttons to confirm a destination of the vehicle.
