Abstract
A 3D printing system includes a tank containing a liquid photopolymer resin. A textured surface is disposed in the tank. The textured surface is configured such that light passes through therethrough and into the liquid polymer resin. A layer of an inert material is disposed on the textured surface.
Claims19
A 3D printing system comprising:
- a tank containing a liquid photopolymer resin;
- a textured surface fixedly disposed in the tank and through which light is configured to pass into the liquid photopolymer resin, the textured surface extending upwardly from a base of the tank and comprising protrusions including hydrophobic nanostructures extending outwardly from a surface thereof;
- and
- a layer of an inert material directly disposed on the textured surface, the light being configured to pass through the inert material into the liquid photopolymer resin, the inert material being a semi-solid, a semi-liquid, or a liquid,
- the 3D printing system preventing formation of an unpolymerized resin area at an interface between the layer of the inert material and the liquid photopolymer resin such that the light substantially immediately cures the liquid photopolymer resin after passing through the layer of the inert material.
