Claims21
A method for epicutaneous desensitization of a subject allergic to peanut, the method comprising:
- a) epicutaneously exposing the subject to a peanut allergen, without an adjuvant, and generating an immune reaction in the subject by applying a dose of the peanut allergen, without an adjuvant, onto a region of skin of the subject;
- and
- b) repeatedly applying the peanut allergen, without an adjuvant, to a region of the skin of the subject, at a dose, frequency or for an application time adapted to sustain the immune reaction, the exposure and sustained reaction leading to desensitization of the subject;
- wherein:
- a) the peanut allergen is applied, without an adjuvant, by a cutaneous occlusive device configured to ensure contact between the allergen and the region of skin,
- b) the dose of peanut allergen is comprised between 0.1 and 1,000 μg/cm2 of a surface area of the device,
- c) the peanut allergen is in dry form, and
- d) the device is removable.
