Establishing a wireless connection with a mobile device

A method of establishing a wireless connection between a transceiver and a mobile communication device, the method comprising:

• transmitting, by a transceiver, a set of broadcast control signals on a first carrier, thereby to enable the establishing of the wireless connection between the transceiver and the mobile communication device;
• transmitting, by each of one or more transmitters, a respective interference signal for interfering with broadcast control signals transmitted on a respective one or more carriers different from the first carrier by a respective one or more base stations of a mobile communications network;
• and
• transmitting, by the transmitter, a further interference signal for interfering with broadcast control signals transmitted on the first carrier by a further base station of the mobile communications network, wherein:
• the further interference signal comprises data encoded and modulated using orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing and allocated to a set of resource blocks occupying at least a portion of the bandwidth of the first carrier;
• said at least portion comprises a control region in which the further base station of the mobile communications network transmits broadcast control signals;
• and
• the set of resource blocks does not contain resource blocks in which the transceiver transmits broadcast control signals.
