System and method for matching using location information

A method comprising:

• determining first location information associated with a first user;
• determining second location information associated with a second user;
• determining, based on the first location information and the second location information, that the first user and the second user took at least partially overlapping routes;
• and
• in response to determining that the first user and the second user took at least partially overlapping routes, causing a transmission of a first notification to a user device of the second user, the first notification identifying the first user and the second user took at least partially overlapping routes and a time difference associated with when the first user and the second user took the at least partially overlapping routes;
• and
• transmitting the first notification to the user device.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium encoded with logic, the logic configured, when executed, to:

• determine first location information associated with a first user;
• determine second location information associated with a second user;
• determine, based on the first location information and the second location information, that the first user and the second user took at least partially overlapping routes;
• in response to determining that the first user and the second user took at least partially overlapping routes, cause a transmission of a first notification to a user device of the second user, the first notification identifying the first user and the second user took at least partially overlapping routes and a time difference associated with when the first user and the second user took the at least partially overlapping routes;
• and
• transmit the first notification to the user device.
