Methods and systems for performing data capture

A system (200) for performing data capture in an unlabeled document based on a labeled document, wherein the labeled document contains one or more elements each labeled with respect to a field, the system comprising:

• a determining unit (210) configured to determine one or more anchors, wherein an anchor comprises a pair of location points of words or visual features in the labeled and unlabeled document that match;
• a generating unit (220) configured to generate an overall kernel using the determined one or more anchors;
• and
• an identifying unit (230) configured to identify, using a kernel machine that is trained using at least a subset of matrix entries for the overall kernel, one or more elements to be captured in the unlabeled document that contain information to be captured, wherein the one or more elements to be captured corresponds in field to the one or more labeled elements contained in the labeled document.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to carry out a method (100) for performing data capture in an unlabeled document based on a labeled document, wherein the labeled document contains one or more elements each labelled with respect to a field, the method comprising:

• determining (S110) one or more anchors, wherein an anchor comprises a pair of location points of words or visual features in the labeled and unlabeled document that match;
• generating (S120) an overall kernel using the determined one or more anchors;
• and
• identifying (S130), using a kernel machine that is trained using at least a subset of matrix entries for the overall kernel, one or more elements to be captured in the unlabeled document, wherein the one or more elements to be captured correspond in field to the one or more labeled elements contained in the labeled document.
