Abstract
The present application relates to: a novel mutant polypeptide having isopropylmalate synthase activity; and a method for producing L-leucine by using same. L-leucine can be produced at high yield by using the mutant polypeptide according to an embodiment.
Claims13
A mutated polypeptide with isopropylmalate synthase activity, comprising an amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to amino acid residues 36-616 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 that is a wild-type sequence, wherein the mutated polypeptide has an amino acid residue other than proline at a position corresponding to position 247 in the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 and wherein the amino acid residues 36-616 are set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 16.
