Aqueous dispersion of polymeric capsules

An aqueous inkjet ink comprising a pigment and an aqueous dispersion of capsules, wherein the capsules comprise a polymeric shell surrounding a core, the core comprising an oligomer or polymer having at least 3 repeating units comprising a functional group according to formula I, II, or III:

• R2 is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl group, and C(═O)R3, or
• R1 and R2 may represent the necessary atoms to form a five to eight membered ring,
• R3 is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl group, OR4, and NR5R6;
• R4 is selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl group;
• R5 and R6 are independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl group, or
• R5 and R6 may represent the necessary atoms to form a five to eight membered ring;
• X is selected from the group consisting of O and NR7;
• R7 is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl group;

• R8 and R9 are independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl group, or
• R8 and R9 may represent the necessary atoms to form a five to eight membered ring.
