Abstract
A method for processing a live fish can include: determining a set of fish attributes of a fish, optionally sorting the fish based on the set of fish attributes, euthanizing the fish, exsanguinating the fish, and/or any other suitable steps. In variants, the method can additionally or alternatively include: discarding the fish after sorting, further processing the fish, and/or tracking the fish. However, the method can additionally and/or alternatively include any other suitable elements.
Claims20
A fish exsanguination system, comprising:
- a set of fish restraints defining a working volume;
- a sensor system facing the working volume;
- an exsanguination mechanism comprising an actuation mechanism and an exsanguination tool actuatably coupled to the working volume;
- and
- a processing system configured to:
- receive a set of measurements of a live fish, restrained by the set of fish restraints, from the sensor system;
- automatically determine an exsanguination trajectory based on the set of measurements, using a trained trajectory determination model;
- and
- control the exsanguination mechanism to actuate the exsanguination tool along the exsanguination trajectory.
6 more elements
A method, comprising:
- restraining a live fish;
- collecting a set of images of the restrained fish using a set of sensors;
- based on the set of images, automatically determining an exsanguination trajectory using a trajectory model, wherein the exsanguination trajectory comprises a dynamically determined exsanguination angle;
- and
- exsanguinating the fish by actuating an exsanguination tool based on the exsanguination trajectory.
