Image sensor with image receiver and automatic image combining

An image sensor comprising:

• an internal image sensor array to generate first image data;
• one or more receivers to receive, into the image sensor from one or more external image sensor arrays, second image data;
• an image combination circuit to digitally manipulate the first image data and the second image data to ensure that each projection of the first image data and the second image data matches a specific projection surface or shape, and combine the first image data and the second image data into a combined image;
• and
• a transmitter to transmit, from the image sensor, the combined image.

A method, comprising:

• generating, in an internal image sensor array of an image sensor, first image data for a first image;
• receiving, into multiple receivers of the image sensor from multiple external image sensor arrays, second image data for multiple second images;
• digitally manipulating the first image data and the second image data to ensure that each projection of the first image data and the second image data matches a specific projection surface or shape, and combining the first image data and the second image data into a combined image;
• and
• transmitting, from the image sensor, the combined image.
