System and method for managing digital wallets

A method for managing digital wallets, the method performed by at least on processor in communication with at least one memory storing at least one restriction rule associated with a digital wallet account of a player, the at least one restriction rule identifying an excluded wallet action, the method comprising:

• receiving a wallet action request associated with the digital wallet account;
• in response to receiving the wallet action request, determining whether the player is associated with an active gaming session by identifying a gaming device that is detecting a device associated with the player using near field communication;
• in response to determining that (a) the wallet action request includes the excluded wallet action identified by the at least one restriction rule and (b) the player is associated with at least one active gaming session, blocking the wallet action request;
• in response to blocking the wallet action request, identifying a geofence distance from a location of the identified gaming device;
• after blocking the wallet action request, monitoring a location of the device associated with the player;
• and
• in response to determining that the device associated with the player is outside the identified geofence distance, unblocking the wallet action request.

At least one non-transitory computer-readable storage media having instructions embodied thereon, wherein when executed by a system including at least one processor in communication with at least one memory storing at least one restriction rule associated with a digital wallet account of a player, the at least one restriction rule identifying an excluded wallet action, the instructions cause the at least one processor to:

• receive a wallet action request associated with the digital wallet account;
• in response to receiving the wallet action request, determine whether the player is associated with an active gaming session by identifying a gaming device that is detecting a device associated with the player using near field communication;
• in response to determining that (a) the wallet action request includes the excluded wallet action identified by the at least one restriction rule and (b) the player is associated with at least one active gaming session, block the wallet action request;
• in response to blocking the wallet action request, identify a geofence distance from a location of the identified gaming device;
• after blocking the wallet action request, monitor a location of the device associated with the player;
• and
• in response to determining that the device associated with the player is outside the identified geofence distance, unblock the wallet action request.
