Abstract
The invention relates to a colorant composition for coloring fibers and fabrics comprising leucoindigo and at least one organic solvent. To achieve a stable composition, which is broadly applicable to different fibers and fabrics, the water content of the composition is less or equal to 10 wt.-% of the total weight of the composition or the water content of the composition is less or equal to 60 wt.-% of the total weight of the composition and the composition also includes a base.
Claims19
A composition for coloring fibers and fabrics comprising leucoindigo, at least one organic solvent, wherein the water content of the composition is less or equal to 60 wt.-%, of the total weight of the composition, characterized in the composition further comprises at least one strong base, wherein the at least one strong base is an alkali metal hydroxide, an alkaline earth metal hydroxide or a mixture thereof, that the at least one organic solvent is selected from a first group of solvents consisting of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, isopentyldiol, dipropylene glycol and mixtures thereof and that the composition comprises at least one reducing agent.
A colorant mixture for coloring fibers and fabrics comprising a composition of 1 as first constituent and at least one further composition as a second constituent, characterized in that the second constituent is an aqueous composition.
