Abstract
It is provided that a particulate hydrophilic resin that can be produced under mild conditions, and that has a small load on the environment. A resin particle comprising a crosslinked structure in which at least one of monomers represented by the following general formula (1) and a polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer are crosslinked, wherein R1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, or an ammonium.
Claims13
A resin particle comprising a crosslinked structure in which at least one of monomers represented by the following general formula (1) and a polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer are crosslinked,
- wherein R1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, or an ammonium,
- wherein the content of a monomer unit derived from the polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer is not lower than 0.5% by mass based on the resin particle, and
- wherein the content of a monomer unit derived from a monomer other than the general formula (1) and the polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer is not higher than 75% by mass based on the resin particle.
A method for producing a resin particle, comprising emulsion polymerization in which at least one of monomers represented by formula (2) and a polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer are dispersed in an aqueous solvent in the presence of an emulsifier and a polymerization reaction is carried out, thereby producing a crosslinked structure in which at least one of monomers represented by the following general formula (1) and the polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer are crosslinked,
- wherein R2 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms,
- wherein R1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, or an ammonium,
- wherein the content of a monomer unit derived from the polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer is not lower than 0.5% by mass based on the resin particle, and
- wherein the content of a monomer unit derived from a monomer other than the general formula (1) and the polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer is not higher than 75% by mass based on the resin particle.
