Abstract
A service verification system for a rear loading refuse vehicle includes a motion sensor on a tailgate of the refuse vehicle. The motion sensor is configured to sense refuse being loaded into a tailgate hopper and to provide a time-stamped triggering signal corresponding to a refuse loading event. An onboard processor is configured to receive the triggering signal and evaluate other sensor data to correlate the refuse loading event with an entity.
Claims26
A rear loading refuse vehicle comprising:
- a tailgate on a rear end of a vehicle body, the tailgate configured to move between a closed position and an open position, the tailgate including a hopper configured to receive refuse;
- a refuse packing assembly in the tailgate configured to compact refuse received in the hopper into the vehicle body;
- a motion sensor on the tailgate, the motion sensor configured to:
- monitor a sensory zone comprising at least part of a volume of the hopper;
- detect motion in the sensory zone corresponding to at least one object entering the hopper;
- and
- provide a time-stamped triggering signal corresponding to the detected motion;
- and
- an onboard processor configured to:
- receive the triggering signal;
- determine that the triggering signal represents a refuse loading event;
- and
- evaluate other sensor data to correlate the refuse loading event with an entity.
