Turf infill separation system and method for separating a dry or dried infill

A method for separating a dry or dried infill having a composition of materials, preferably comprising rubber and sand, into a plurality of fractions comprising the steps of:

• i) providing a first dry or dried infill;
• ii) separating infill from the first infill in a first screening means having a first set of separation screens into fractions such as to obtain a first set of composition values;
• iii) replacing one or more separation screens in the first screening means by a separation screen with a different mesh size, the replacement of at least one separation screen only being carried out if at least one of the analysis fractions is not considered to have a high purity;
• and
• iv) separating the first infill into a plurality of fractions in the first screening means;
• wherein the screen replacement takes place during operation, or during a short pause in the operation, of the first screening means.
