Antimicrobial basketball net

A basketball net, comprising:

• at least one string having at least one cord formed of an antimicrobial and moisture wicking fiber, the at least one string forming:
• a plurality of knots and a plurality of openings that define the basketball net to have:
• a conical shape having a central opening,
• an upper region having a first diameter at a first end of the basketball net,
• a lower region having a second diameter at a second end of the basketball net, the first diameter being larger than the second diameter,
• a central region having a third diameter, the third diameter being smaller than the first diameter and the second diameter, and
• a plurality of loops at the first end configured for attachment to a basketball rim;
• wherein:
• the at least one string is configured to wipe moisture from a surface of a basketball passing through the basketball net,
• the plurality of knots includes a first set of knots in the upper region and a second set of knots in the central region of the basketball net,
• the second set of knots are formed of the antimicrobial and moisture wicking fiber and configured to provide a maximum amount of contact and wiping pressure in the central region to the basketball passing through the basketball net.
