Abstract
A flow control apparatus includes a body, a door, a drip chamber holster, and a valve. The door is pivotally coupled to the body. The drip chamber holster is coupled to one of the body or the door to retain a drip chamber. The valve is disposed within the body and is configured to receive a fluid line coupled to the drip chamber when the door is in an open position. The valve is operatively coupled to the door to secure the fluid line within the valve when the door is in a closed position.
Claims17
A flow control apparatus, comprising:
- a door;
- a valve including a first member and a second member, the first member being configured as a first clamshell and the second member being configured as a second clamshell that are coupled to the door such that when the door is open, the valve is opened by pulling open the first clamshell relative to the second clamshell such that a fluid line is receivable therebetween and when the door is closed, the valve is closed and the first clamshell and the second clamshell are transitioned back to a closed position such that the fluid line is securable therebetween, at least one the first member and the second member including a hole;
- a plunger that is translatable through the hole to deform the fluid line;
- and
- a filler disposed within the first member and the second member and the plunger engages the filler when translated through the hole.
