Abstract
Medical devices and method for making and using the same are disclosed. An example medical device may include implantable medical device for use along the biliary and/or pancreatic tract. The implantable medical device may include a tubular member having a first end configured to be disposed within the duodenum of a patient and a second end configured to be disposed adjacent to a pancreatic duct and/or bile duct. The tubular member may have a body including one or more wire filaments that are woven together. The tubular member may also have an outer surface with a longitudinal channel formed therein.
Claims14
An implantable stent comprising:
- a tubular body having a first end, a second end, and a central lumen;
- wherein the tubular body includes one or more interwoven wire filaments;
- wherein the tubular body has an outer surface defining a plurality of longitudinal channels extending therein;
- wherein a covering is applied to the stent, the covering having a plurality of openings formed therein, wherein the plurality of openings are aligned along the plurality of longitudinal channels with a gap defined between an inner surface of the covering and the outer surface of the tubular body creating fluid paths.
An implantable stent comprising:
- a tubular body formed of one or more interwoven wire filaments, the tubular body having a circumferential outer surface, a first end, a second end, and a central lumen extending therethrough, the outer surface of the tubular body defining a plurality of longitudinal channels extending therein;
- wherein a covering is applied around the circumferential outer surface, the covering having a plurality of openings formed therein opening into the central lumen, the plurality of openings being longitudinally aligned along the plurality of longitudinal channels.
An implantable stent comprising:
- a tubular body formed of a plurality of interwoven wire filaments, the tubular body having circumferential outer surface, a first end, a second end, and a central lumen extending therethrough, wherein the plurality of interwoven wire filaments are displaced radially inward from the circumferential outer surface to form a plurality of longitudinal channels;
- and
- a covering extending around the circumferential outer surface and attached to the plurality of interwoven wire filaments;
- wherein the covering has a plurality of openings formed therein opening into the central lumen;
- wherein the plurality of openings are longitudinally aligned along the plurality of longitudinal channels.
