Abstract
Embodiments described herein relate to a recombinant nucleic acid construct comprising a nucleic acid molecule encoding a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence, or fragment thereof, of SEQ ID NO:2; SEQ ID NO:4; SEQ ID NO: 6; SEQ ID NO:8; SEQ ID NO: 10; SEQ ID NO: 12; SEQ ID NO: 14; or SEQ ID NO: 16, as well as keratin-degrading compositions, methods of recombinantly producing a polypeptide, and methods of degrading keratin.

A recombinant nucleic acid construct comprising:
- a nucleic acid molecule encoding a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2;
- SEQ ID NO:4;
- SEQ ID NO:6;
- SEQ ID NO:8;
- SEQ ID NO:10;
- SEQ ID NO:12;
- SEQ ID NO:14;
- or SEQ ID NO:
- 16.
A keratin-degrading composition comprising:
- a polypeptide having at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:4;
- SEQ ID NO:6;
- SEQ ID NO:8;
- SEQ ID NO:10;
- SEQ ID NO:12;
- SEQ ID NO:14;
- or SEQ ID NO:16, wherein the polypeptide is capable of degrading keratin or assisting in degrading keratin;
- and
- a carrier.
A method of recombinantly producing a polypeptide comprising:
- transforming a host cell with a heterologous nucleic acid molecule, wherein the nucleic acid molecule encodes a polypeptide having at least 90%, at least 95%, or at least 98% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2;
- SEQ ID NO:
- 4;
- SEQ ID NO:6;
- SEQ ID NO:8;
- SEQ ID NO:
- 10;
- SEQ ID NO:12;
- SEQ ID NO:
- 14;
- or SEQ ID NO:
- 16.
