Abstract
Window lite assemblies and methods for installing the assemblies are provided herein. The assemblies described herein are configured to be installed in new and existing buildings, especially in building corners, while leaving some or all of the horizontal structural members such as headers and sills in place.
Claims20
A corner window lite assembly for a corner portion of a building having a structural load member and a flooring component, comprising:
- a window lite comprising a first lite portion and a second lite portion that form a first angle between 45-135 degrees;
- and
- a frame structure positioned around a perimeter of the window lite, wherein the frame structure is configured to integrate into the corner portion of a building, and comprises:
- one or more vertical posts;
- a saddle positioned above the one or more vertical posts, and including a first saddle portion and a second saddle portion that form a second angle between 45-135 degrees, wherein the saddle is configured to fasten to the structural load member of the building;
- and
- a base positioned below the one or more vertical posts, and including a first base portion and a second portion that form a third angle between 45-135 degrees, wherein the base is configured to fasten to the flooring component, and wherein the flooring component is positioned beneath the corner window lite assembly.
