Systems and methods for scheduling and controlling wound therapy

A method for controlling and monitoring a negative-pressure wound treatment device, the method comprising:

• transferring an initial therapy configuration from a code that is machine readable to a processor of a therapy device, wherein the therapy device comprises a source of negative pressure, a source of instillation fluid, and a controller including the processor, and wherein the initial therapy configuration includes instillation therapy;
• controlling, using the controller, the source of instillation fluid to supply instillation fluid to a dressing based on the initial therapy configuration;
• monitoring, at the controller, instillation parameters associated with the supplying of instillation fluid to the dressing to identify instillation alarm conditions;
• providing a first corrective action in response to identification of an instillation alarm condition, wherein the first corrective action includes stopping the instillation therapy and starting negative pressure therapy;
• controlling, using the controller, the source of negative pressure to apply a first therapeutic negative pressure to a dressing based on the initial therapy configuration;
• monitoring, at the controller, negative pressure parameters associated with the application of negative pressure to the dressing to identify negative pressure alarm conditions;
• and
• providing a second corrective action in response to identification of a negative pressure alarm condition, the second corrective action being an adjustment to the source of negative pressure of the negative-pressure wound treatment device made automatically by the controller,
• wherein the negative pressure alarm condition is a leak condition and the second corrective action is increasing the negative pressure being applied to the dressing from the first therapeutic negative pressure to a second therapeutic negative pressure.
