Abstract
A system is provided for supporting an electrical component in an electrical device of an electrical distribution system. The system includes at least one hook connected to a cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device; and at least one rod attached to the electrical component. The at least one rod is slidably received in the hook such that the electrical component is held in close proximity to the cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device while the electrical component is being attached to the cabinet frame or structural member by hardware. The electrical component can be a bus assembly of a switchboard.

A system for supporting an electrical component in an electrical device of an electrical distribution system, the system comprising:
- a pair of hooks connected to a cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device;
- and
- at least one rod attached to the electrical component, the at least one rod configured to be slidably received in the pair of hooks such that the electrical component is held in close proximity to the cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device while the electrical component is being attached to the cabinet frame or structural member by hardware,
- wherein the pair of hooks includes:
- a base on a back side of the pair of hooks;
- a ramp profile on a front side of the pair of hooks that extends along a majority of the front side of the pair of hooks, the ramp profile being configured to guide for guiding the at least one rod attached to the electrical component as the electrical component is being lifted;
- a tip spaced apart from the ramp profile on the front side of the pair of hooks;
- and
- a groove configured to receive the at least one rod.
A system for supporting an electrical component in an electrical device of an electrical distribution system, the system comprising:
- at least one hook connected to a cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device;
- and
- at least one rod attached to the electrical component, the at least one rod configured to be slidably received in the such that the electrical component is held in close proximity to the cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device while the electrical component is being attached to the cabinet frame or structural member by hardware,
- wherein the at least one hook comprises:
- a base having a front side and an opposite back side;
- a pair of hooks, extending from the front of the base, configured to support the electrical component;
- and
- a stop that extends from the back of the base and is configured to abut against a portion of the support member.
A system for supporting an electrical component in an electrical device of an electrical distribution system, the system comprising:
- at least one hook connected to a cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device;
- and
- at least one rod attached to the electrical component, the at least one rod configured to be slidably received in the such that the electrical component is held in close proximity to the cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device while the electrical component is being attached to the cabinet frame or structural member by hardware,
- wherein the at least one hook comprises:
- a base having a front side and an opposite back side;
- a pair of hooks, extending from the front of the base, configured to support the electrical component;
- and
- a stop that extends from the back of the base and is configured to abut against a portion of the cabinet frame or structural member.
A method of assembling an electrical device having a cabinet frame, comprising:
- providing at least one hook connected to the cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device;
- providing at least one rod attached to an electrical component;
- sliding the at least one rod of the electrical component onto the such that the electrical component is held in close proximity to the cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device;
- and
- attaching the electrical component to the cabinet frame or structural member by hardware,
- wherein the includes:
- a base on a back side of the at least one hook;
- a ramp profile on a front side of the at least one hook that extends along a majority of the front side of the at least one hook, the ramp profile being configured to guide the at least one rod attached to an electrical component as the electrical component is being lifted;
- a tip spaced apart from the ramp profile on the front side of the pair of hooks;
- and
- a groove configured to receive the at least one rod.
A system for supporting an electrical component in an electrical device of an electrical distribution system, the system comprising:
- at least one hook connected to a cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device;
- and
- at least one rod attached to the electrical component, the at least one rod configured to be slidably received in the such that the electrical component is held in close proximity to the cabinet frame or structural member of the electrical device while the electrical component is being attached to the cabinet frame or structural member by hardware,
- wherein the at least one hook comprises:
- a base having a front side and an opposite back side;
- one or more hooks, extending from the front of the base, configured to support the electrical component;
- and
- a stop that extends from the back of the base and is configured to abut against a portion of the cabinet frame or structural member.
