Liquid level detector

A liquid level detector comprising:

• a float that floats in liquid;
• an arm that supports the float at a distal end side;
• a holder that holds a base end side of the arm and converts displacement of the arm following an up-down movement of the float associated with a change in liquid level of the liquid, into a rotational movement;
• a frame having a shaft as a rotation reference for the holder;
• a magnetic detection element that is provided on the shaft and detects a rotation angle of the holder;
• and
• a magnet that is provided in the holder and applies a magnetic field to the magnetic detection element, wherein
• the holder includes:
• a shaft recess that is rotatably and slidably engaged with the shaft;
• an arm holding part that holds the arm such that an extension direction of a portion of the arm in the arm holding part is perpendicular to a central axis of the shaft recess;
• and
• a pair of flanges protruding in respective opposite directions along the extension direction of the portion of the arm in the arm holding part,
• the frame includes:
• a locking groove that has two side walls facing each other in a direction along a central axis of the shaft and constrains the flanges to allow the rotational movement of the holder;
• and
• an arm-facing part that is provided at a position facing a trajectory of the arm, and
• a first distance in a direction parallel to the central axis between the arm-facing part and the trajectory of the arm is smaller than a second distance in the direction parallel to the central axis between a side wall of the two side walls of the locking groove and a flange of the pair of flanges.
