Embossed paper in combination with paper cushioning for shipping envelopes

A protective product, comprising:

• at least one expandable slit paper sheet, said at least on expandable slit paper being expanded between opposing ends of said slit paper sheet to form at least one expanded slit paper sheet;
• a first paper sheet facing said at least one expanded slit paper sheet and
• a second paper sheet facing an opposite side of said at least one expanded slit paper sheet,
• at least one of said first paper sheet and said second paper sheet being fixed to said at least one expanded slit paper sheet at the opposing ends of said at least one expanded slit paper sheet and thereby maintaining said expanded paper in its expanded state, including that said at least one expanded slit paper sheet is fixed via crushing and gluing to at least one of the first paper sheet and the second paper sheet at two opposite end regions of said at least one expanded slit paper sheet in an expansion direction of said at least one expanded slit paper sheet, and
• wherein said expanded slit-sheet paper is free from being fixed via crushing and gluing to said first paper sheet and said second paper sheet along a portion of a first side region of said at least one expanded slit-sheet paper that extends transverse to said two opposite end regions.
