Abstract
An electrical stimulation system and a method for controlling the electrical stimulation system are provided. The electrical stimulation system includes an electrical stimulation unit including at least one first fastener and an electrode pad configured to attach to the at least one first fastener via at least one second fastener located within the electrode pad, where the electrode pad includes at least one electrode. Further, the electrical stimulation system includes a controller remotely controlling the electrical stimulation unit to deliver electrical pulses to the electrode pad connected to the electrical stimulation unit.
Claims18
An electrical stimulation system, comprising:
- at least one electrical stimulation unit, each comprising at least one first fastener;
- an electrode pad configured to attach to the at least one first fastener via at least one second fastener located within the electrode pad, wherein the electrode pad comprises at least one electrode;
- and
- a controller remotely wirelessly controlling the at least one electrical stimulation unit to deliver electrical pulses to the electrode pad remotely connected to the at least one electrical stimulation unit, wherein the controller comprises:
- a unit selector for selecting a channel to wirelessly remotely transmit operating instructions to at least one of the at least one electrical stimulation unit to control,
- a mode selector for selecting an operating mode for each electrical stimulation unit, wherein the operating mode varies by parameters comprising a pulse width and treatment pattern repetition cycles,
- a time selector for selecting an operating time period to wirelessly remotely transmit to the at least one of the at least one electrical stimulation unit;
- and
- a display for indicating the operating time period selected by the time selector, and wherein:
- the controller wirelessly transmits the operating instructions of the selected operating mode to the at least one electrical stimulation unit using the selected channel, wherein the at least one electrical stimulation unit is remotely attached to the electrode pad using the at least one first fastener, the at least one electrical stimulation unit is controlled by the controller via the selected channel of the selected operating mode to deliver electrical pulses to the electrode pad for the operating time period selected by the time selector via the at least one first fastener such that the electrical pulses are delivered to body tissues via the electrode pad, and the at least one electrical stimulation unit is configured to continue operating at the operating mode selected by the mode selector for the operating time period selected by the time selector after the controller is turned off.
