Abstract
A monitor configuration system which communicates with a physiological sensor, the monitor configuration system including one or more processors and an instrument manager module running on the one or more processors. At least one of the one or more processors communicates with the sensor and calculates at least one physiological parameters responsive to the sensor. The instrument manager controls the calculation, display and/or alarms based upon the physiological parameters. A configuration indicator identifies the configuration profile. In one aspect of the invention, the physiological sensor is a optical sensor that includes at least one light emitting diode and at least one detector.
Claims10
A method of configuring a physiological monitoring system, the method comprising:
- receiving a unique character based identifier from a wireless network device located in a medical care facility, wherein the unique character based identifier is associated with a care environment that the wireless network device is configured to provide network services;
- automatically selecting a configuration profile based on the received unique character based identifier from the wireless network device;
- operating the physiological monitoring system based on the selected configuration profile;
- and
- displaying the configuration profile on a configuration display of a physiological monitor, wherein the configuration display is physically separate from a display of the physiological monitor used for displaying patient data and is configured to display alphanumeric data corresponding to the configuration profile, wherein the respective configuration profile and respective unique character based identifiers for each of a plurality of configuration profiles are stored as a table.
