An optical element comprising:

• a cured product of a polymer of a resin composition,
• wherein the resin composition contains a compound represented by the following formula (1):

• X1 denotes a substituted phenyl group, the substituted phenyl group having at least one trifluoromethyl group and optionally substituted with at least one member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and an alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms,
• X2 denotes a substituted phenyl group, X2 being the same substituted phenyl group as X1,
• A denotes at least one member selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group, the substituted phenyl group and the substituted biphenyl group having at least one member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a trifluoromethyl group, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and an alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and
• P1, P2, and P3 independently denote an acryloyloxy group or a methacryloyloxy group, a, b, and c denote any one of 0, 1, and 2, and a+b+C denotes any one of 1, 2, and 3.
