Abstract
An insulated box assembly comprising an outer box comprising a plurality of outer lateral sidewalls, the outer lateral sidewalls defining an inner surface, the inner surface defining an inner cavity; an inner box comprising a plurality of inner lateral sidewalls, the inner box received in the inner cavity, the inner lateral sidewalls defining an outer surface; a sidewall liner received in the inner cavity between the outer lateral sidewalls and the inner lateral sidewalls, the sidewall liner defining a liner outer surface and a liner inner surface opposite the liner outer surface; and a lid assembly disposed within the inner cavity, the lid assembly comprising a lid box and a lid liner.
Claims15
An insulated box assembly comprising:
- an outer box comprising a plurality of outer lateral sidewalls, the outer lateral sidewalls defining an inner surface and a plurality of vertical outer edges, the inner surface defining an inner cavity;
- an inner box comprising a plurality of inner lateral sidewalls, the inner box received in the inner cavity, the inner lateral sidewalls defining an outer surface;
- a sidewall liner received in the inner cavity between the outer lateral sidewalls and the inner lateral sidewalls, the sidewall liner defining a liner outer surface and a liner inner surface opposite the liner outer surface, the liner outer surface defining at least one curved outer bend and facing the inner surface of the outer lateral sidewalls so that a curved outer bend of the at least one curved outer bend is bent into a corresponding vertical outer edge of the plurality of vertical outer edges, and the liner inner surface facing the outer surface of the inner lateral sidewalls;
- and
- a lid assembly disposed within the inner cavity, the lid assembly comprising a lid box and a lid liner,
- wherein
- the sidewall liner is bent to define a plurality of lateral liner sides, each of the lateral liner sides oriented between a corresponding one of the inner lateral sidewalls and a corresponding one of the outer lateral sidewalls, and
- the liner inner surface defines a curved inner bend between each adjacent pair of the lateral liner sides, and the liner outer surface defines a curved outer bend between each adjacent pair of the lateral liner sides, wherein the curved inner bends confront the inner lateral sidewalls and the curved outer bends confront the outer lateral sidewalls.
A method of assembling an insulated box assembly comprising:
- obtaining an outer box defining a plurality of vertical outer edges and an inner cavity, an inner box defining a storage hollow, and an insulating lining comprising a resilient sidewall liner, the resilient sidewall liner defining a liner outer surface defining at least one curved outer bend and a liner inner surface;
- positioning the resilient sidewall liner around the inner box to form an inner box assembly;
- inserting the inner box assembly into the inner cavity of the outer box, the resilient sidewall liner oriented between the inner box and the outer box, the liner outer surface facing the outer box, the inner box comprising a plurality of inner lateral sidewalls;
- and
- inserting a lid assembly into the inner cavity of the outer box, the lid assembly comprising a lid box and a lid liner,
- wherein
- the at least one curved outer bend of the resilient sidewall liner is bent into a corresponding vertical outer edge of the outer box,
- the resilient sidewall liner defines a first end and a second end, and positioning the resilient sidewall liner around the inner box comprises positioning the first end adjacent to the second end so that the liner inner surface faces the inner box, and
- wrapping the resilient sidewall liner around the inner box comprises bending the resilient sidewall liner to define a plurality of lateral liner sides, the liner inner surface defining a curved inner bend between each adjacent pair of the lateral liner sides.
