Electrical device and power cut-off system comprising such a device

An electrical system for interrupting an electrical current, the electrical system including:

• a circuit breaker;
• a fuse, and
• an electrical device, wherein:
• the electrical device includes a body delimiting a closed internal volume, a first electrode, a second electrode and a third electrode, a free end of each electrode opening into the internal volume, said free ends of each electrode being arranged inside the internal volume, at a distance from each other and opposite with respect to the other electrodes,
• the device includes an electrically conducting element connecting the first electrode to the second electrode, the electrically conducting element being configured for changing when a current flowing therethrough exceeds a predefined threshold value, so as to interrupt an electrical contact between the first electrode and the second electrode,
• the electrical device is configured for:
• prohibiting an electric current from flowing between the first electrode and the third electrode when the electric current or an electric voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode stays below the predefined threshold value;
• and
• letting the electric current flow between the first electrode and the third electrode when said electric current or said electric voltage exceeds said threshold value
• said electric current flow is implemented through an electric arc established between the first electrode and the second electrode, said electric arc being then diverted to be established between the first electrode and the third electrode.
