Abstract
This provides an improved dissolvable solid article with a specific aspect ratio. Such dissolvable solid article has a multilayer structure comprising two or more flexible, dissolvable, porous sheets, while each of which comprises a water-soluble polymer and a surfactant and is characterized by a Percent Open Cell Content of from 80% to 100% and an Overall Average Pore Size of from 100 μm to 2000 μm. The multilayer dissolvable solid article is characterized by a maximum dimension D and a minimum dimension z; and wherein the ratio of D/z ranges from 1 to 10.
Claims16
A dissolvable solid article comprising two or more flexible, dissolvable, porous sheets having a length and a thickness, wherein:
- each of said two or more sheets comprises a water-soluble polymer and a surfactant, a top region adjacent a top surface and a bottom region adjacent a bottom surface and a middle region disposed between the top and bottom regions;
- an Average Pore Size ratio of the bottom region to the top region is from about 0.6 to about 1.5 and is characterized by a Percent Open Cell Content of from 80% to 100% and an Overall Average Pore Size of from 100 μm to 2000 μm and a ratio of the length to thickness of about 10:1 or more;
- each of said two or more sheets comprises an Average Cell Wall Thickness of from 65 μm to 200 μm and a basis weight of from 50 grams/m2 to 250 grams/m2;
- said dissolvable solid article is characterized by a maximum dimension D and a minimum dimension z;
- the ratio of D/z ranges from 1 to 10;
- and
- the top region comprises a top Average Pore Size, the bottom region comprises a bottom Average Pore Size, and the middle region comprises a middle Average Pore Size, wherein a relative standard deviation between the top Average Pore Size, the bottom Average Pore Size and the middle Average Pore Size is about 20% or less.
