Adjustment of a surgical device function based on situational awareness

A system, comprising:

• a surgical device comprising a first control circuit to selectively control the surgical device;
• an actuator communicatively coupled to the first control circuit, wherein an actuation of the actuator is configured to implement a surgical function by the surgical device;
• and
• a screen separate from the surgical device, wherein the screen comprises a second control circuit communicatively coupled to the first control circuit, wherein the second control circuit comprises a user interface configured to receive a user input, and wherein the second control circuit is configured to:
• receive an input signal from the user interface indicative of an adjustment to the surgical function associated with the actuator;
• and
• transmit an output signal to the first control circuit based on the input signal;
• wherein the surgical device comprises an electrosurgical tool;
• and
• wherein, in a first state, the electrosurgical tool is configured to transmit a first waveform, wherein, in a second state, the electrosurgical tool is configured to transmit a second waveform, and wherein the second waveform is different than the first waveform.

A system, comprising:

• an electrosurgical tool comprising a first control circuit, wherein, in a first state, the electrosurgical tool is configured to transmit a first waveform and, in a second state, the electrosurgical tool is configured to transmit a second waveform different from the first waveform;
• an actuator communicatively coupled to the first control circuit, wherein an actuation of the actuator is configured to implement a surgical function by the electrosurgical tool;
• and
• a screen separate from the electrosurgical tool, wherein the screen comprises a second control circuit communicatively coupled to the first control circuit, wherein the second control circuit comprises a user interface configured to receive a user input, and wherein the second control circuit is configured to:
• receive an input signal from the user interface indicative of an adjustment to the surgical function associated with the actuator;
• and
• transmit an output signal to the first control circuit based on the input signal.
