Computer-implemented methods, systems comprising computer-readable media, and electronic devices for resource preservation and intervention within a network computing environment

Non-transitory computer-readable storage media having computer-executable instructions stored thereon for resource preservation and intervention within a network computing environment, wherein when executed by at least one processor the computer-executable instructions cause the at least one processor to:

• retrieve data records from a data source, each of the data records containing data elements relating to resources and/or activity within the network computing environment;
• analyze the data records to enumerate a plurality of resources within the network computing environment;
• classify each of the plurality of resources under one of a plurality of pre-defined categories, the classification including application of criteria for identification of cloud computing resources, databases, communication channels, virtual devices, physical devices, and computing devices;
• determine that additional data is needed to complete assignment of at least one enabled action program to one or more of the plurality of resources;
• based on the determination that additional data is needed, automatically instruct at least one resource within the network computing environment to report out and/or expose supplemental data;
• based on the classification of the plurality of resources and on the supplemental data, assign a plurality of enabled action programs to each of the plurality of resources, wherein execution of each of the plurality of enabled action programs causes pre-determined changes in the behavior and/or capabilities of the corresponding one of the plurality of resources;
• based on the classification of the plurality of resources, apply one of a plurality of data preservation programs to each of the plurality of resources within the network computing environment, wherein execution of each of the plurality of data preservation programs causes collection of corresponding pre-defined resource data;
• for each of the plurality of resources, expose the corresponding pre-defined resource data and the assigned plurality of enabled action programs to and for use via a client device.
