Rotating electric machine

A rotating electric machine comprising:

• a field element that has a plurality of magnetic poles of which polarities alternate in a circumferential direction;
• an armature winding of multiple phases that has a phase winding that is made of a plurality of partial windings for each phase, and
• a supporting member that is provided on a side that is opposite the field element, of an inner side in a radial direction and an outer side in the radial direction of the armature winding, and supports the plurality of partial windings, in which the field element and the armature winding are provided such as to oppose each other in the radial direction, wherein:
• the partial winding includes a pair of intermediate conductor portions that are provided such as to extend in an axial direction and be separated at a predetermined interval in the circumferential direction, and crossover portions that are provided on one end side and another end side in the axial direction and connect the pair of intermediate conductor portions in an annular shape, and is configured by a conductor material being wound in multiple layers in the pair of intermediate conductor portions and the crossover portions so as to form a concentric winding;
• the intermediate conductor portions of the phases are arrayed in a predetermined order in the circumferential direction by one of the intermediate conductor portions of the pair of intermediate conductor portions of the partial winding of another phase being arranged between the pair of intermediate conductor portions of the partial winding, and no tooth is provided between two intermediate conductor portions, of different pairs of the intermediate conductor portions, that are adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction;
• a sheet-shaped insulation covering body is provided in the intermediate conductor portion in a portion that opposes the intermediate conductor portion of the partial winding of another phase;
• the insulation covering body uses a film material that has at least a length of an insulation-covered area in the axial direction of one of the intermediate conductor portions as an axial-direction dimension, is provided by the film material being wrapped in the circumferential direction of the one of the intermediate conductor portions, and is provided in a state in which the end portions in the circumferential direction of the film material do not overlap in a periphery of the one of the intermediate conductor portions;
• a cut in the film material is provided between the intermediate conductor portions, of the different pairs of the intermediate conductor portions, that are adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction, in the periphery of the intermediate conductor portion;
• between the intermediate conductor portions, of the different pairs of the intermediate conductor portions, that are adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction, cuts in the film material in the intermediate portions do not oppose each other in the circumferential direction;
• and
• to both sides in the circumferential direction of one of the pair of intermediate conductor portions of one phase, the intermediate conductor portions of another phase are arranged.
