Active noise cancellation device and method

An active noise cancellation (ANC) device, comprising:

• a first microphone configured to generate a first microphone signal in response to a first acoustic noise in a first zone of the ANC device;
• a second microphone configured to generate a second microphone signal in response to a second acoustic noise in a second zone of the ANC device;
• a loudspeaker configured to be driven with a loudspeaker signal;
• and
• processing circuitry configured to:
• generate a feedforward anti-noise signal using a first filter and based on the first microphone signal being filtered by the first filter,
• generate an equalized playback signal from a playback signal using an equalization filter, and
• generate a loudspeaker playback signal using a second filter as a feedback active noise cancellation filter and based on the feedforward anti-noise signal, the equalized playback signal, and the second microphone signal being filtered by the second filter,
• wherein the equalized playback signal is generated by the equalization filter to be equalized with the feedforward anti-noise signal.
