Abstract
Methods and systems for characterizing tissue of a subject are disclosed. The method includes receiving a time series of fluorescence images of the tissue of the subject wherein the images define a plurality of calculation regions, generating a plurality of time-intensity curves for the plurality of calculation regions, creating a set of parameter values for each calculation region, generating a total rank value for each calculation region by comparing the sets of parameter values, and converting the total rank value into a ranking map image. Also disclosed are methods and systems for characterizing a wound in tissue by generating a wound index value.
Claims30
A system for characterizing a wound in a target tissue region of a subject, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory having instructions stored thereon, the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to:
- for a time series of fluorescence images of the target tissue region of the subject, for each calculation region of a plurality of calculation regions of the images in the time series of images, create one or more parameter values based on at least a portion of a time-intensity curve of the calculation region;
- generate a total rank value for each calculation region by comparing parameter values for the plurality of calculation regions against one another;
- generate a data set comprising modified total rank values, wherein the modified total rank values are based at least in part on the total rank values;
- and
- generate a wound index value based on at least a portion of the data set.
A method for use in medical imaging for characterizing a wound in a target tissue region of a subject, the method comprising:
- at a computer system including one or more processors and memory,
- for a time series of fluorescence images of the target tissue region of the subject, for each calculation region of a plurality of calculation regions of the images in the time series of images, creating one or more parameter values based on at least a portion of a time-intensity curve of the calculation region;
- generating a total rank value for each calculation region by comparing parameter values for the plurality of calculation regions against one another;
- generating a data set comprising modified total rank values, wherein the modified total rank values are based at least in part on the total rank values;
- and
- generating a wound index value based on at least a portion of the data set.
